This book really spoke to my heart. It reminded me a lot of my childhood and brought back memories that I haven't had for a long time. Teddy & Lily reminded me the importance of all relationships in your life and how they make up your story. My favorite part was the flower analogy... all friendships need water to flourish and if not given that water, it will die. What an incredible book!
This was a lovely story of friendship and life, told from a teddy bear's perspective. The gentle and soothing tone of the story is ideal for children, although the storyline is timeless and ageless and can be enjoyed by all. I think Teddy & Lily is destined to become a children's classic.
I picked this up for a quick read as it sounded like a delightful book and I am happy to say it was. The story of one teddy and one little girl who's met her best friend. Short, sweet and a nice commentary on the way humans live their lives. Love the author's style and will be checking out more of her books.
What a beautiful message! The story has a loving, soothing tone to it. Children, especially ones who have suffered trauma would relate to Lily. Teddy and Lily bond and grow, as they go through tough times together. Life is always better with a good friend. I have read and enjoyed the memoir, "Destination Freedom" and this is a wonderful version! I highly recommend this story for the young and young at heart.
Teddy & Lily True Friendship is Unconditional Loyalty was a breath of fresh air for me. Its light and easy reading but it has such depth in the words written by the author. The story shows how important friendships are forged and maintained. Amis has cleverly shown us this through the eyes of a Teddy.
Don't be misled, this isn't 'just a story for kids' far from it. We can all take a lesson from 'Teddy & Lily,' Love and true friendship are traits in a human being that is Universal, being kind, being there for each other and strength in the bonds we make are needed to make us better people. They are also there to alleviate worries and to share our troubles.
Teddy & Lily shows us this through their long term friendship and we can all learn from it. Great book to read to children and put across the important message of sharing love and friendship. Well done to the author.
I was given this beautiful, little book as a gift and I can't speak highly enough of its entrancing story and message.
It is a story about love, life, friendship, and values, but told through the perspective of a little, teddy bear.
Teddy was on the shelves, in a gift store, at Singapore's Changi Airport, when Lily and her Mother, refugees from war, walked in. Lily chooses Teddy and the bond is made fast. Teddy begins his journey as Lily's lifetime companion around the world.
The trio end up in Switzerland and although Teddy's faith in Lily is tested from time to time, especially as other toys join the collection, Teddy learns that jealousy is not necessary and there is more than enough love in Lily's heart for all her toys.
This is a beautiful story to read to that special child in your life. The beautiful, yet simple illustrations just serve to complement the text. Simply lovely.
